Case Study: Construction Company Receives Exceptional Service

A major construction company was building a plant in the Gulf Coast. They chose Scott-Macon Equipment to provide the balance of cranes for the project and provide service to the cranes. We had the equipment the customer needed readily available and were able to satisfy their tight delivery time.

During a night shift, a coupler on the hydraulic pump of a crane broke. This caused the pump itself to break and render the crane useless. Due to the environmental restrictions of the project location, there was a zero leak policy. Damaged equipment could not be repaired on the jobsite and had to be removed as quickly as possible.

Losing an estimated $3,000 a minute due to the number of workers unable to do their job without the crane, the customer was in dire need of quick repair. Aware of the safety, environmental, and financial severity of the issue, the technician was at the job site within 35 minutes of the initial call.

Our personnel expedited the repair, while our parts department provided a new pump that was delivered the next day. The crane was repaired and back up and running that same day. This saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential downtime since this type of repair would typically take one week.

FAQ: How often should my crane be inspected?

Answer: Cranes require daily checks before use, monthly inspections, and annual comprehensive inspections to help ensure they operate safely.
